Shore-based Whiting Public Notice

The National Marine Fisheries Service announces the end of the primary season for the shore-based whiting fishery at 12 noon local time, July 14, 2003. A 10,000 lb (4,536 kg) per trip limit will be in place after the primary season unless otherwise announced in the Federal Register. For vessels fishing inside of 100 fm (183 m) in the Eureka area, at any time during a fishing trip, a limit of 10,000 lb (4,536 kg) of whiting is in effect year-round (unless landings of whiting are prohibited).
