Availability of Supplemental CCA Analysis


The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) announces the availability of a supplemental analysis to the 2007-2008 Pacific Coast groundfish specifications and management measures & Amendment 16-4 Overfished Species Rebuilding Plans draft environmental impact statement (DEIS).  This supplemental analysis pertains to the Cowcod Conservation Areas (CCAs) and was submitted by the California Department of Fish and Game (CDFG) as a comment to the DEIS.  The supplemental analysis provides additional information pertaining to liberalizing the CCA boundaries.  This supplemental analysis is available near the bottom of the Pacific Fishery Management Council's website at http://www.pcouncil.org/groundfish/gfspex/gfspex07-08.html .

In addition, the proposed rule for the 2007-2008 Pacific Coast groundfish specifications and management measures is available on the NMFS Northwest Region website at http://www.nwr.noaa.gov/Publications/FR-Notices/2006/upload/71FR57764.pdf .   The public comment period for this proposed rule is open through October 31, 2006.   If you would like to comment on the supplemental CDFG CCA analysis or on the 2007-2008 proposed rule, please provide comments by 5pm Pacific Standard Time on October 31, 2006 via one of the following methods:
