Status of the three workplans were presented: "Vacancy Announcement Listserver" (Rosalie), "Website Resource Address List" (Carlos), and "Human Resources Training" (Maura).
We discussed potential workplan topics that our subcommittee can pursue. They include: 1) making the "Advanced Study Program" more accessible to employees interested in NMFS-related graduate-level courses, 2) making the "Individual Development Plan" more accessible to lower-grade employees interested in career advancements, and 3) developing a centralized source of information for trainings, seminars, fellowships, etc.
Maria subsequently sent the subcommittee information about the first two topics. The three attachments contain Advanced Study Program information for the FY02 Program. Information on the Individual Development Plan can be found at http://ohrm.doc.gov/training/idp-2001.pdf
Note: Kathy Jones suggested the subcommittee meet at 11:00 am (PT) instead of 10:00 (PT) so she can attend the meetings from Hawaii. None of the subcommittee members objected. The Personnel subcommittee will now meet regularly at 11am-noon on the second Wednesday of each month.
