Minutes:
April 2, 2003

Attendance: Tim Price, Todd Buchholz, Rosalie del Rosario, Maura Eagan, Carlos Garza, Marty Golden, and Judith Kendig. Maria Harris and John Clancy attended as advisors.

Absent: Ani Au, Eleanor Domalaog, Rosemary Troian, Lewis Van Fossen, and Rick Wantuck.

Chairman Tim Price called the meeting to order at 1:05 p.m.

The February minutes were approved (motion by Maura Eagan, 2nd by Marty Golden) .

Officer reports:

Maria Harris reported that the SWR EEO Annual Report for Minority and Women was completed. Maria thanked those that provided input to the report.

Tim Price is still waiting for Rosemary Troian to complete copying new EEOAC training materials that have that been received. Upon completion of this project copies will be provided to all Committee members.

Subcommittee Reports:

Program Subcommittee:

Committee is still in the process of reviewing IDP Work Plan documents, probably will be

ready for the full Committee at the may Meeting.

Administrative Subcommittee:

No Report

Personnel Subcommittee:

Carla is updating the listserver mailing list. Still waiting for most people to enter info into the database.

The subcommittee has also developed a draft a list of questions which are appropriate to be used in interviews.

Old Business:

a) Program Subcommittee:

Committee is still in the process of reviewing IDP Work Plan documents, probably will be ready for the full Committee at the may Meeting.

b) Assistance with Listserver Database Entry

Committee members were encouraged to expedite their input to the database.

Need to get Front Office to sign final version of letter, using an electronic signature, if possible.

New Business:

a) Todd Buchholz discussed the Interview Guidelines Wordplay and presented a draft document. It was agreed that additional modifications would be made and document would be presented at the next EEOAC meeting. It was also agreed that document would not be expanded to include "how to conduct an interview" materials, except for possibly a few references.

b) Guest Speakers: There were a number of suggestions re guest speakers including:

Minority college representative - to discuss how to reach minority students

Query Federal Executive Board for suggestions (Marty Golden will check on this)

Natalie Huff (NMFS EEO Office) - Update on NOAA Fisheries EEO Programs

Barbara Marsha-Bailey (NOAA Diversity Office) - role of Office

Next Meeting:

The next meeting will be on May 7th at 1:00 PM.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:02 PM
