He then requested volunteers to fill the Vice-Chair position. Jessica Kondel was elected as the new Vice-Chair. Jessica was in the Secretary position and requested to be relieved due to her new Vice-Chair responsibilities. Nancy Fisher was elected as Secretary. Jeff McLain was elected as the Personnel Subcommittee Chair.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

The minutes of the January meeting were approved.

OFFICERS' REPORTS

Nothing to report.

SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS

Due to vacancies and changing roles, the Personnel and Program Subcommittees did not meet during January. Jeremy suggests everyone review the work plan table to be updated on what the committees have been working on and to think of possible new work plans. Maria suggested another column be added to the work plan table indicating whether the plan has been completed or is still a work in progress. The column will be added.

Personnel Subcommittee: Nancy Fisher reported that she completed additional work on the Interview Question work plan, but that the group did not meet. She will be sending a draft worksheet for this work plan to the subcommittee for review, and will coordinate a meeting to discuss the worksheet on a date that best works for all members.

Administrative Subcommittee: Jessica Kondel reported that the subcommittee met on January 31. Minutes were emailed to the group. Topics of discussion were mostly centered on work plans The committee will be placing committee agendas and minutes on the EEOAC web site, including pictures of members. A suggestion was made that employees of the month be placed on the EEOAC web site. No requests for annual reports were requested, so none have been posted.

Program Subcommittee: Nothing to report.

OLD BUSINESS

None

NEW BUSINESS

Two new potential work plans were discussed:

1) activities be created around cultural awareness/appreciation months to coincide with the posters that are distributed and displayed by each office, such as hosting speakers or showing videos

2) coordinate diversity/EEO training -- possibly by video conferencing.

Natalie Huff will be contacted regarding both of these matters.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Jeremy indicated that California State Fullerton was having a resume workshop on February 22. SWR was not planning on attending; however, if anyone wanted information about the workshop, they should contact Jeremy.

Jeff McLain will be sharing career advice to students at Tokay High School on Friday, February 4, 2005. He will be speaking to a college/career class. Rosemary Troian will send statistical and other information to all offices that may be useful in their outreach activities. Sarah Dunsford is creating a database of regional outreach activities, so be sure to keep her informed of your activities. Also, please submit any pictures from outreach activities to either Jessica Kondel or Jeremy Rusin for posting on the EEOAC web site.

ACCESS NOAA did a piece on Rosemary Troian's workplan called "Partnership in Education", which could be used by any lab or office to partner with an inner city school. KUDOS to you, Rosemary!

Now is the time to be sure your office has informed John Collins of the appropriate contact person to receive EEOAC posters. This is in response to an email sent today to the region from John Collins regarding reusing the posters annually and updating him, as needed.

The next meeting will be March 2 at 1:00 p.m.

The meeting adjourned at 1:45 p.m.
