Minutes:
January 7, 2004

Attendees: Tim Price, Jessica Kondel, Rosemary Troian, Rosalie del Rosario, Eleanor Domalaog, Carlos Garza, Nancy Fisher, Jeremy Rusin, Laura Tezer, Marty Golden, Stephanie Johnson. Maria Harris was also present. Absent: Todd Buchholz, Brian Cluer, Rick Wantuck.

Chairman Tim Price called the meeting to order at 1:10 pm. Tim welcomed the new and returning members. New and old members introduced themselves and briefly described what interested them about EEO.

New members are: Nancy Fisher, Brian Cluer, Jeremy Rusin, Laura Tezer and Stephanie Johnson.

Pat Erdenberger resigned from the committee in January. Rosalie, who completed her term on December 31 attended the January meeting to assist the EEOAC with the transition of her departure.

Tim went on to say that the Bylaws for the Committee are on the EEOAC Website and everyone should read them. The EEOAC is advisory in nature and exists to provide advice to the Science Director and the Regional Administrator. The Committee designs work plans which are sent to the SD and RA for approval. Terms on the committee are for 2 years. Officers serve for one year. There are three standing committees: Program (Workplans like the IDP), Personnel (Hiring, staffing), and Admin. (Website, elections, reports). We have no budget. Meetings are held on the first Wed. of each month at 1:00 for an hour. Meetings are governed by Roberts' Rules of Order.

OFFICERS' REPORTS

Chair: Tim Price finalized the memorandum to the Regional Administrator and Science Director with the EEOAC's recommendation for the 2004 EEOAC membership.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Program: Marty Golden is ready to begin training the managers at the Region about the Individual Development Plans (IDP)

Administration: Jessica Kondel needs help with maintaining the Webpage.

Personnel: Todd has entered his Listserver address list that he was assigned. He will forward to Rosalie. Todd has accepted a position with the Forest Service which starts on February 22, 2004.

Old Business: Marty Golden did a dry run of the IDP training which was witnessed by Maria Harris and Tim Price. Marty still needs to have the RA and SD approve the IDP message which will go to supervisors and the message for all employees. Training will be mandatory for supervisors and voluntary for employees. The training will take approximately 1.5 hours.

New Business: Tim Price will balance the subcommittees and see where we need new people to serve.

Next Meeting: Our next meeting will be Feb. 4 at 1:00 p.m..

Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 2:05 p.m.
