APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the Dec. meeting were approved.
There were no officers reports.
The Subcommittees did not meet in December.
Short reports were given on the functions of the various subcommittees. New members need to decide where they would like to work.
With regard to diversity, Jeremy said that the definition of diversity already fit under the umbrella of EEOAC and he didnt see any need to change the name of the committee. This is up for further discussion.
There was a discussion on funding the intern workplan. Basically, the money would have to come out of program funds. EEOAC has never had a budget.
Election of officers took place and the results are:
Chair Jeremy Rusin
Vice-Chair Jessica Matson
Secretary Jessica Kondel
Vice Secretary Nancy Fisher
It was announced that Scott Hill gave a presentation at an after school program.
Also, an open house was held on the David Starr Jordan ship on Dec. 14 and 15 for about 80 students from the David Starr Jordan High School in Orange County. Ship people and scientists from the SWFSC personed exhibits and answered student questions. Jim Milbury took pictures.
Anyone doing outreach should try to get digital photos for possible submission to the NOAA Report or some other venue.
