  • The Briefing Book for the September 2010 Council meeting has been posted to the Council's website on the “Current Briefing Book” webpage. The Briefing Book contains “situation summaries” (brief summaries that provide background for each agenda item), reports and materials for each agenda item, and written public comment. 09/01/10
  • The National Marine Fisheries Service announces the publication of a proposed rule to further implement details of the trawl rationalization program. The public comment period for this rulemaking is open and ends September 30, 2010.   • The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Council) Salmon Subcommittee of the Scientific and Statistical Committee (SSC) will hold a joint work session October 29 - 20, 2010 with the Salmon Technical Team (STT) and Model Evaluation Workgroup (MEW), which will be open to the public.  08/19/10

  • The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Council) Tule Chinook Workgroup will hold a public meeting September 30, 2010 to discuss issues and make assignments relative to developing an abundance-based harvest management approach for Columbia River natural tule Chinook. 08/19/10

  • Notice of Availability - The document Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for Proposed Harvest Specifications and Management Measures for the 2011-2012 Pacific Coast Groundfish Fishery and Amendment 16-5 to the Pacific Coast Groundfish Plan to Adopt a Rebuilding Plan for Petrale Sole, dated August 2010 has been posted to the Council's groundfish upcoming harvest specifications webpage. 08/19/10

    Written comments should be submitted through mail, facsimile (fax), or e-mail to the Responsible Program Official identified below. Written comments submitted during the agency's 45-day public comment period must be received by October 12, 2010. When submitting fax or email comments, include the following document identifier in the comment subject line: Amendment 16-5, 2011-2012 Groundfish Harvest Specifications and Management Measures.

  • Council to Consider a Variety of Management Issues Affecting West Coast Fisheries - The Pacific Fishery Management Council and its advisory bodies will meet September 10 - 16 in Boise, Idaho, to address issues related to salmon, Pacific halibut, groundfish, coastal pelagic species, highly migratory species, habitat matters, and marine protected areas.   • The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Council) Coastal Pelagic Species Management Team (CPSMT) and Coastal Pelagic Species Advisory Subpanel (CPSAS) will hold a joint meeting by telephone conference to review and develop statements on draft Terms of Reference (TOR) for potential new CPS survey methodologies and for the upcoming Stock Assessment Review Panel process.
